What We Did For Love…for the love of Hyun Joong

Let me count the ways. Shall I start with beaten up laptops and broken chargers still smoking from overuse in making fan arts, or writing aricles? Or the eyebags we can no longer hide even with dabs after dabs of concealer creams for staying awake waiting for news or live telecast of South Korean programs? How about the gnashing of the teeth, the migraines that refuses to leave our heads voting on those made difficult online polls,many times surrendering yet returning once again for the nth time? How about seething with anger and indignation when the beloved artist was cheated of a rightful crown? Or felt the sting of unfairness and ready to hoist the red flag of war on this blog overly critical of his acting?

Can they be quantified? Or should we even list them down? One smile, just one smile from Hyun Joong can vanish these concerns and then the sky become oh so blue once again with the white cotton candy-ish clouds, the winds whisper softly, playing gently with the leaves, rustling them once in a while, the flowers still wet with the night's dew its face turned upward meeting and greeting the golden rays of the sun. Ah, the world is still beautiful, really beautiful.

Can we rationalize or justify the love we have for Hyun Joong? Or should we leave it at that - there is no use explaining because such is the nature of true love. We need no reason. Those of you reading this now, feel this in your heart. Hyun Joong may never know our hearts, but our collective prayers and good wishes for his wellbeing transcend the borders and spaces separating all of us. Through Hyun Joong we made friends, (and sometimes enemies) and were inspired and able to do things we have not done before. Is that the power of love or what ?

Who shall we blame for this bottomless love? Should it be the drama Boys Over Flowers and why did Jihoo even appear before thy eyes and the rest is forever love?The TV show We Got Married when he became the boy groom? Were they the many pictures and videos uploaded online when they (the SS501) was just starting and he appeared as the cute, playful imp with those baby fat in the cheeks and longish black hair mane forever sleeping anywhere? There were five of them, but why did your eyes land on him and not on the four others? And why did your eyes since then scan any picture, concert fancam shots , any variety program looking for him?Stayed late or woke up early depending on your time zone watching the unsmiling, cold, genuis Baek Seung Jo in Playful Kiss? Was it the spoiling noona in us, the protective mother or the doting grandmother? Was he not the national even international crush with many his age swooning how hot looking he was and is? It must have been our hearts that choose him.

Yes, that was then and he grew up before our eyes , from a boy he became a man . Our love grew too and followed him everywhere even if it only means quenching our insatiable thirst on anything about him via social media sites and YouTube . Many have seen him in person, perform live and swear he is a different person on stage -he glowed,he sizzled, he mesmerized his audience . He reigned on stage. He had his sad moments,too. And we cried with him. But he picked himself up and decided there are other things to do like helping the less fortunate.

Hyun joong have had his share of scandals and crisis , but he had us. We did not leave his side and continued believing in him right or wrong. For such is our love, nonjudgemental,not fair weathered and certainly not opportunistic. He will still have many uphill battles,but we know he can pull through and make it.

Sometimes others' love for him turned nasty and said hurtful words. Maybe it is not true love after all. Perhaps, it is time to let go, if indeed he is not your cup of tea. But for many of us we will be there till the last curtain falls and the final bow has been said. To love and to grow old with Hyun Joong.
